What to do...

CBC KW has what must be the definitive list of things to do with your kids this March Break.

The Irish Real Life Festival has events for all ages this week - check out their site for the full run down. We've listed a few of our favourites below.

Tonight, join tech enthusiasts from around town for the HackerNest Kitchener-Waterloo March Tech Social at the offices of TextNow (375 Hagey Blvd, Suite 301, Waterloo). It's no-pressure networking with awesome people in town.

Irish Real Life Festival, Princess Cafe and Short Finger Brewing Co present "What Ales Ya?" on Tuesday, March 14 at the Princess Cafe (46 King St N, Waterloo) at 8pm. It's a curated selection of Irish style beers from Abe Erb, TWB, Beau's and Descendants.

Want to enjoy great conversation and awesome food while supporting The Working Centre? Irish Real Life Festival and Nick and Nat's Uptown 21 present Feasible Feasts this Thursday, March 16 at 6pm. Hosted by Marlene Epp and keynote speaker Alison Blay-Palme, the event will inspire a hunger for discussion on the future of food security and how we can work towards a future of feasting locally and globally.

St. Patrick's Day Shenanigans

  • TWB Co-operative Brewing is hosting the first ever Blarney Beoirfest starting at noon. They'll be raising money for the Food Bank of Waterloo Region through the sale of a special edition one-off - and they'll also have the fantastically talented Anthony Damiaoto playing some pogues starting at 6:30pm.
  • For your little leprechauns, head to THEMUSEUM for Irish dancing, story telling and even build your own Irish castle with Tinker Truck.
  • KW's best band, Heintz 57 & The Wailing Whippets, are playing Abe Erb Waterloo (15 King St S, Waterloo) this St. Patrick's Day.
  • Descendant's Beer and Beverage (319 Victoria St N, Kitchener) has live music starting 2pm on St. Patrick's Day. Head over to enjoy a pint and hear music from We are offering Irish Beer, Steve Hogg, Stringymajig Irish Duo and Onion Honey. Plus, buck a shuck is on.
  • Take the kids to the Kitchener Market on Saturday the 18th for a St. Patrick's Day themed morning of Irish dancing, face painting and more.

Home with your kids this March Break? Or heck, maybe you just want to see Moana for free. Kitchener Public Library has you covered with free movies every day this week at 3:45pm.
