Let's talk trash
Eating and drinking and working.

We're just under two months away from some major changes to garbage collection. On March 6, the Region will be moving to collection every second week and we'll be limited to four bags per house.
Recycling and compost will still be collected each week. If you go over your four bag limit, you can purchase tags for the extras.
Change can be hard, but in this case it is very necessary. Waterloo is the birth place of the blue bin recycling program, but our green bin compost usage is not where it needs to be. My house has been using the green bin system since it launched (that sounds like a humblebrag and I'm sorry) and we end up with one large black garbage bag a week. Not saying we're typical, but it can be done.
If you read the comments or replies (which you should never do), you'll find some standard internet outrage. Are there things the Region could be doing better to get the word out? What do you think about the changes?
What to do.
