What to do.

Tonight, Monday, Nov. 6, join the Kitchener Public Library at 7 PM for an evening that examines how we view conflict through photography in the post 9/11 era with award-winning documentary photographer Louie Palu. Louie will be sharing insights into his new book Front Towards Enemy which is the result of covering the frontline for 5-years in Afghanistan, his short film Road Through War, which is a journey along the frontlines in Ukraine and his 10 year long project exploring Washington DC from 2007-2017 as a view of the American home front during the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Monowhales and Featurette play Maxwell's Music House on Tuesday, Nov. 7. Doors open 7:30 PM.

What stories can we tell each other that will make a difference to the way we live, work, do business, launch innovative projects, and interact together in community? And how can we make these stories go viral? These will all be discussed at Life Asks™ Pop-Up Community Conversations at THEMUSEUM on Wednesday, Nov. 8 starting at 7 PM.

It's an art show sale with Out of the BOX … Meet Art$Pay this Friday, Nov. 10 and Saturday, Nov. 11 at The Walper Hotel. There will be 50 Art$Pay artists in attendance with over 700 feet of curated local art on display at the beautifully renovated Walper Hotel.

On Saturday, Nov. 11 - join the The Frederick Art Walk - a 4 km walking tour through one of Kitchener's oldest neighbourhoods, bounded by Victoria and Krug Steets (on the north and south), Lancaster Street and East Avenue. Enjoy the beauty of a fall day and the pleasure of exquisite artworks, in a setting of grand maple trees and century-old homes. The Art Walk features an amazing array of hand-crafted works for sale, including fabric art, paintings, chocolate, photography, pottery, stained glass, sewing crafts, and jewellery.

Canada's premier Led Zeppelin tribute band, Ozone Baby, play Rhapsody Barrel Bar on Saturday, Nov. 11. Get the led out starting at 9 PM.

Communitech launched ticket sales for True North Waterloo happening May 29-31, 2018 at LOT42 in Kitchener. What is True North Waterloo? It's a conference designed to bring together hackers, hustlers, influencers and policymakers for crucial conversations about the future of tech as a force for good. The talks will focus on concerns about everything from robots replacing humans, to a growing digital divide, persistent gender and racial discrimination, and the spread of “fake news” via social media. More speakers and schedule will be announced soon.
