Saturday is the 11th annual Lando Day at Short Finger Brewing Company!!! They'll be serving new batches of Lando, along with Cloud City, from 1 until 8 pm along with an old-school BBQ — free glizzies (hot dogs) and snacks from 3-6pm or until they run out. I can't even drink beer and I'm excited about this.
Neighbour's Day, Kitchener’s city-wide porch party is back. Up to 50 local musicians fan out across neighbourhoods, popping up on porches, driveways, and front lawns for one-hour performances from noon to 5pm. Grab a lawn chair, step outside, and let the music come to you. Free, no registration required.
Victoria Park in Kitchener comes alive with the sights, sounds, and aromas of the diverse mix of cultures that call our community home. The third annual Gruhn St Porch Party is on Saturday from 2 to 7 pm. The day will feature local musicians, an open mic stage, and even an improv and comedy act. There are also many kid-friendly activities: making sea creatures out of egg cartons at the craft table, face painting, a s'mores station, soccer game, and even a calming corner for some chill time. An all free event and any donations will go to the musicians/acts.

The Essentials Fund (TEF) provides an unrestricted grant to eligible Waterloo Region community agencies to provide essential items including toiletries, seasonal appropriate clothing, bus fare, menstrual products, baby needs including diapers and formula and cleaning supplies to name a few items to support their clients’ long term health. TEF is now accepting applications, and the deadline to apply is Friday, June 26, 2026 at 5 pm.

With 50 days to go until the Waterloo Region 2026 Ontario Summer Games, organizers are inviting volunteers to help support more than 4,000 athletes, coaches, and officials coming to the region from July 30 to August 2, 2026.Hundreds of volunteers have already signed up, with opportunities still available across event operations, guest services, logistics, and programming support. Roles are open to all backgrounds and experience levels, including high school students looking to complete community hours.
