THEMUSEUM is presenting a series of dynamic dialogues each Wednesday during the Model Citizens exhibition. The first presentation is a talk with Paul Kalbfleisch titled The Frontier Within happening this Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 7 PM. In his talk, Kalbfleisch draws upon his own personal experience working in the technology industry and the arts to present a new and challenging way to make sense of the world around us.
The Waterloo Public Library has a two-part Writers Lecture Series with Author Jane Ann McLachlan this month. The first event is this Wednesday, Oct. 11 starting 6:30 PM and covers publishing and marketing your novel.
Join Kitchener Public Library's October gallery artist Julia Maier for an inspirational talk as she shares her own experiences traveling the world, capturing images of the global family, in countries such as India, China, Peru, Cuba, Cambodia and Nepal. Julia will be discussing the significance of making a human connection with the people that she photographs, inspired by the quote of famous photojournalist Alfred Eisenstaedt: "It is more important to click with people then to click the shutter”.
The Lucas Stagg Band plays Rhapsody Barrel Bar this Friday, Oct. 13 starting at 9 PM.
The second Ferrari 500 Exhibition (Mach 2!) is this Friday, Oct. 13 at the Tannery Event Centre in downtown Kitchener. The Ferrari 500 is an upcoming series of pop-up style shows featuring art for sale by local professional artists. As the art shows pop up, the venues will change, the non-profit or charitable foundation will change, and the list of participating artists will change, so each event will be unique and full of unexpected treasures.
