Your Waterloo Public Library presents "Identity and Popular Culture" this Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 7 pm. Carol B Duncan, Professor of Religion & Culture and coordinator of the Women & Gender Studies program at UW will discuss how popular culture influences who we are and the choices we make. The program is presented as part of One Book, One Community Waterloo Region.
The Waterloo Rib Fest runs from Friday, Sept. 8 through Sunday, Sept. 10 at 100 Father David Bauer Driver in Uptown Waterloo. It's BBQ and craft beer, what more could you ask for? I guess if you're a vegetarian, you could probably ask for more. I would honestly go to a Kale and Cider Fest
Ladies Learning Code KW present "Data Visualization for Beginners" this Saturday, Sept. 9 from 10 am to 4 pm at the Communitech Data Hub in UpTown Waterloo. Whether you’re a part of a marketing team or just someone who needs a good infographic for a blog post, they'll teach you how to manage collected data and how to make it look awesome.
25 unique cask beers and ciders will be on hand for Welly Cask Fest 2017 on Saturday, Sept. 9 starting at noon. Venture down highway 7 for this one-of-a-kind event at the Wellington Brewery (950 Woodlawn Road West, Guelph). There are three sessions to purchase tickets for - $25 each. A portion of the proceeds goes to supporting the Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition.
The Laurier Golden Hawks take the field against the Carleton Ravens on Saturday, Sept. 9 at University Stadium.
THEMUSEUM and The Walper Hotel are having their second annual #UnWeddingShow on Sunday, Sept. 10 from 11 am to 3 pm. Check out their venues and meet some of the region's best wedding vendors. There were also be donuts there according to their Facebook page.
The 4th Annual Fergus Whole Hog BBQ is on Sunday, Sept. 10 from 3 pm to 7 pm. It's an afternoon featuring ten talented local chefs cooking ten locally-raised, heritage breed Berkshire pigs along with fresh corn-on-the-cob, a selection of veggie side dishes and a seasonal dessert treat. It's a family-friendly event - free for kids under 12 - and the event raises money for the Wellington Centre for Sustainable Agriculture.

LiveLocalKW is a grassroots initiative which challenges participants to eat, play and buy from local businesses for one week. LiveLocal runs from September 17-23, 2017.
